Where are the Women?

I just noticed that over the last 3 plus years, we have only read 7 female writers. Not that I am saying that is significant or meaningful or important, but it could be.  We also haven't read any Westerns, but I don't think that is as significant. Thoughts?

This is interesting, Kelly. I suppose we are a 'men's' book group, so the picks reflect our own experience.

or bias? or blind privilege?

Speaking for me, the men authors outnumber the women in terms of reading proclivities, but that doesn't mean that I'm not interested in women authors. I do read women authors, just not as much, and when I choose, I'm not conscious of gender.
